Two-Way Split, by Allan Guthrie (2004)

"Revenge," he said, "is an important part of my grieving process."

I'd had Guthrie's follow-up to this novel in my TBR pile for over a year now. Thanks to a fifty dollar Amazon gift card I got last month, I was able to get this, Nobody Runs Forever and the Gil Brewer two-in-one. This Amazon thing is quite convenient. Welcome to the twenty-first century, John.

Pearce is a debt collector (coughlegbreakercough) in Edinburgh. He does have his soft side, but a very violent act early on in the book has him gunning for three robbers. And you don't feel sorry for the world of hurt coming for them. The book switches from each of the four characters point of view (as well as a hapless private detective) and they come across as very unlikeable sods.

I loved this book. Zoomed right through it.
